Catholic Ethos

As a Catholic school, St. Stephen’s has a mission to ensure that its young people are able to live their lives according to the Gospel values –

  • Holy Mass is celebrated in school every Monday by our chaplain, Fr. Matthew Carlin
  • Morning prayers are offered during Advent and Lent
  • Special events in the school year and Holy Days of Obligation are commemorated with the celebration of Holy Mass as a whole school community.
  • Pupils are encouraged to work towards their Caritas Award in S6
  • A St. Vincent de Paul group has been formed by pupils

The Chaplaincy team within the school work closely with our  parishes to ensure that the ethos and values which underpin the teaching and learning that takes place within St. Stephen’s is encouraged and continues to grow in the wider community of Port Glasgow.
