Associate Primaries

St Stephen’s High School has three Associated Primary Schools, St Francis’, St John’s & St Michael’s. Teachers and management from St Stephen’s High School pay regular visits to all three schools each year helping the school to maintain an excellent relationship with primary staff and pupils. These include subject, Guidance and Support for Learning staff

In Primary 7, pupils get a number of opportunities to visit St Stephen’s prior to joining the school the following year.

Over the last few years, P7 pupils have visited St Stephen’s on a Wednesday afternoon for 12 weeks. During this time they attend lessons in Science, ICT and Home Economics for 4 weeks each.

The same pupils also attend the school for three days in June. On this visit they follow the same timetable they will use in August and get to experience the full school day from registration to period 7.

These visits help pupils to become familiar with the school and the teachers and also provides them with the opportunity to meet their new classmates. It also helps pupils to settle more quickly when they join us in August.

Furthermore, members of St Stephen’s staff attend P7 Parent’s Evenings throughout the year and also, a member of St Stephen’s staff is a co-opted member of the three Primary School Parents’ Councils
