Raising Attainment

As part of the national directive of raising attainment in S1-3, SSHS have appointed a raising attainment team who are based in the pupil support corridor. The team will work in partnership with all staff to identify young people who may benefit from a support strategy which will focus on the key directives of: Literacy, Numeracy and Health & Wellbeing. Initiatives include: S1: Introducing the Credit Union (Oct/Nov) S2: Raising awareness of the World of Work S3: Youth Philanthropy Initiative (YPI). Sponsored by the Wood Foundation, this sees pupils working in groups to identify and research a social issue and a charity which supports this issue. They will present to their peers about the charity. At a ‘finale’ on 30th November and a panel of judges will award the charity of the winning presentation £3000.
