Aims and objectives

music depThis Music Department aims to provide each child in the school with the opportunity to learn, appreciate and participate in a variety of musical experiences from late in P7 to S5/6, through meaningful curricular and extra-curricular activities.

This will be achieved by:

•carefully planned units of work being delivered through appropriate classroom
 methodologies at a level to suit each pupil

•a department ethos conducive to learning

•a host of instrumental and vocal groups ranging from beginner to advanced level on offer

•a spirit of competitiveness contributing to the enthusiasm and motivation of all pupils


Extra Curricular Activities

The department currently run a number of ensembles, as detailed below:

Monday - Woodwind Ensemble / (Soul rock pop) Band

Tuesday - Jazz Band

Wednesday - Percussion Ensemble / Concert Band

Thursday - Soloists

Friday  - Brass Ensemble

Times - 3.15 -  4.15pm
